Purpose of the Application

The Becutie application is designed for new and expectant mothers. It allows them to easily share their experiences with Becutan products through questionnaires and provides access to useful information and the latest videos related to caring for their child.

The user assumes full responsibility for using the services of this Application, acknowledging that usage is at their own risk. ALKALOID shall not be liable for any direct or indirect damage that may result from access to, use of, or inability to use the Application — including potential damage to the user’s device or other property — to the extent permitted by applicable law. Additionally, ALKALOID shall not be responsible for any damage arising from the user’s actions or omissions based on information, services, or content obtained through the Application.

This Application contains materials, including text, trademarks, photographs, videos, PDF documents, and other images and audio content, which are protected by copyright or other intellectual property rights. These rights are owned by ALKALOID or licensed from rights holders for use within this Application. Any reproduction, transmission, copying, duplication, or use of these materials without prior written consent from ALKALOID is prohibited. Permission requests should be sent to: [email protected].

These Terms of Use and Privacy Policy provide detailed information about the processing of personal data within the Becutie application (hereinafter: the “Application”) and comply with the Law on Personal Data Protection of the Republic of North Macedonia, published in the Official Gazette No. 42 of 16.02.2020.

PURPOSE OF PERSONAL DATA PROCESSING

We value your privacy and collect and process personal data in a lawful, fair, and transparent manner, fully complying with applicable regulations and the relevant legal basis. Personal data processing is strictly limited to what is necessary for specific purposes — such as providing requested services, fulfilling legal obligations, sending promotional emails, and promptly addressing your requests.

Collected data may be processed for the following purposes:

Marketing and communications – Sending e-newsletters, notifications, updates, and responding to your inquiries.
Service improvement and personalization – Enhancing service quality by troubleshooting, preventing technical errors, data analysis, testing, research, and surveys, as well as developing and implementing new features and services tailored to users’ needs.
Compliance with legal requirements – Retaining and/or disclosing information as necessary to comply with applicable laws, regulations, legal proceedings, or requests from competent authorities, as well as for responding to legal claims, asserting or protecting legal interests, or preventing illegal actions, fraud, or abuse.

WHICH CATEGORIES OF PERSONAL DATA DO WE PROCESS, AND WHAT IS THE LEGAL BASIS FOR THEIR PROCESSING?

Promotional emails – With your prior consent, we may send promotional e-newsletters and notifications to your email address or phone number via Viber, WhatsApp, or SMS to inform you about news, products, and services that we believe are relevant to you.
User questions and requests – When submitting questions or requests, we may process your full name, email, phone number, address, your child’s name, maternity hospital, date of delivery, and other information you voluntarily provide. These data are processed based on the consent you have given.
Service improvement and personalization – When using the Application, we collect technical information such as frequency and duration of use, features used, possible application crashes, as well as data about your device (IMEI/UDID, MAC address, IP address, device type and settings, operator, signal strength, application version, etc.). These data are processed based on ALKALOID’s legitimate interest in maintaining, analyzing, and developing the Application and its features.

HOW DO WE PROTECT YOUR PERSONAL DATA?

We maintain adequate technical and organizational measures to safeguard the security and confidentiality of your personal data. Our employees adhere to our internal data protection policies, and our business partners are bound by personal data processing agreements, in accordance with the applicable personal data protection legislation.

Furthermore, we are committed to collecting and processing only the personal data necessary to fulfill the aforementioned purposes, ensuring that it remains adequate, relevant, and not excessive.

Use of the Mailchimp Platform for Sending E-Newsletters

We use the Mailchimp platform to manage subscriptions and send e-newsletters to users of the Application. Your email address will be shared with Mailchimp only with your clear and explicit consent to receive e-newsletters. This consent is provided during registration and remains valid for the duration of your subscription. Through Mailchimp, we may send you personalized and targeted e-newsletters containing information about the latest content, promotions, and reward activities related to the loyalty program.

HOW LONG DO WE RETAIN YOUR PERSONAL DATA?

You also have the right to access, rectify, and update any of your personal data stored in the Application if you think such data may be invalid, incomplete, or inaccurate.

Right of restriction and objection to processing. You have the right to ask us to restrict the processing of your personal data and to object to the processing of your personal data under certain conditions determined by law.

Withdrawal of consent does not affect the legality of the processing, based on the consent prior to its withdrawal. You always have the option to enable/disable your consent for specific features in the Application settings. Please note that certain features will not function properly without your permission for personal data collection.

Right to data portability. You have the right, under certain conditions, to receive your personal data in a structured, commonly used, and machine-readable format and to transfer it to another processor, without interference from us.
